Homecoming '08

November is a time when the campus gets into a tizzy with Xpressions. Adding to the importance of this fest is the fact that the college also plays host to scores of alumni who make it a point to return to their alma mater by attending The Homecoming. This year was no exception, with close to seventy of our alumnus making the journey down to campus, along with their families.

“Come Back to Your Alma Mater” was the theme that dominated our thoughts and minds all throughout the last month, as preparations for Homecoming 2008 kicked into high gear. Plans were laid and executed and then the wait was on for the week of Xpressions and Homecoming.

  •  Dr. (Fr.) K.T.Chandy, SJ joined as a member of faculty at XIMB in the Rural Management area. 
  • Mr. Pranab Mishra and Mr. Chandan Kumar Parhi joined as Adjunct Professors in the Centre for Banking and Insurance.
  • Mr. Lalit Kumar Dash joined as Advisor in the Centre for Banking and Insurance.
  • Ms. Simi Mishra joined as Manager, Media and External Linkages.

Lohri/Bhogi Celebrations

Some call it 'Lohri', the others 'Bhogi’ but we XIMBians, true to our culture, came together and celebrated this festival, which is associated with the worship of the Sun and Fire, with pomp and show. According to the Hindu calendar, it marks the advent of the new year, announcing the end of the coldest month of the year, Paush,  and the start of the month of Magh.
