The first year Rural Management students of XIMB got a golden opportunity to interact with Mr. Chinmaya Kumar Acharya, XIMB-RM alumnus having a vast experience in the field of renewable energy.
 
Mr. Chinmaya Kumar Acharya is the Deputy Director of South Asia Regional Initiative for Energy (SARI/E) and is also related to United States Agency for International Development (USAID), American Embassy.

Mr. Chittaranjan Jena, PGP Alumnus of 1999 Batch, has taken it up as a challenge to raise Rs. 1crore for his and our alma mater, XIMB. Mr. Chittaranjan, who also happened to be the General Secretary in 1999, plans to raise the money in the next 365 days.
 
His plan of action is to ensure that his batch raises either Rs. 30,000 per day or somehow get 3 Alumni to contribute towards the cause.

On 18th November, 2009 the Bhubaneswar chapter of SPIC MACAY organized an Odissi performance by exceptionally talented Ms. Shakti Swarupa Bir and her guru Mr. Chittaranjan Acharya in the XIMB campus Despite Ms. Bir’s hearing and speech impairment, her perfect rendition of the nuances of Odissi left the audience enthralled. The dedication put in by the dancer and infinite patience demonstrated by the Guru in grooming this incredible talent inspired one and all.
