The graduation ceremony of Postgraduate Programme in Management and Insurance (PGPMI) and Postgraduate Certificate Programme in Business Management (PGCBM) students of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) for the year 2009-2010 was held on 30th January 2010, at the institute's auditorium. The event saw a total of 52 students of PGCBM and 48 students of PGPMI graduating.

Village Trip

For the first time the students of business management got a chance to experience the village life. 

The SPIC MACAY chapter of XIMB organized a classical music performance by Mr. Tim Hoffman on January 21st. He performed authentic North Indian classical music on Japanese flute shakuhachi and the 13-stringed koto.The soothing confluence of music enthralled the audience.

Prof. N.K.Chaudhary who works in the area of political economy and is a Professor in the Economics Department of Patna University delivered a talk on "Governance"on 19 January 2010.

• Shalini Talreja and Saurabh Nagpal won the "Omniscient” event in Amatheon 2010, an IIM Ahmedabad event .
• Team “3 Good Men” from XIMB has been awarded the runners-up prize in the event “Battle for IT”, conducted by IIM Kozhikode, in their fest “Backwaters”.
  

•  Dr. (Fr.) K.T.Chandy, SJ joined as a member of faculty at XIMB in the Rural Management area. 
• Mr. Pranab Mishra and Mr. Chandan Kumar Parhi joined as Adjunct Professors in the Centre for Banking and Insurance.
• Mr. Lalit Kumar Dash joined as Advisor in the Centre for Banking and Insurance.
• Ms. Simi Mishra joined as Manager, Media and External Linkages.

Lohri/Bhogi Celebrations

Some call it 'Lohri', the others 'Bhogi’ but we XIMBians, true to our culture, came together and celebrated this festival, which is associated with the worship of the Sun and Fire, with pomp and show. According to the Hindu calendar, it marks the advent of the new year, announcing the end of the coldest month of the year, Paush,  and the start of the month of Magh.
